UAE National to lead IEG clean and renewable energy push

Eng. Yahya Lootah, President and CEO of the International Energy Group (IEG), the regions first international energy alliance to promote clean and renewable energy, has announced the appointment of Zeyad Almajed, a UAE national Engineer as IEG's General Manager.
"Zeyad will be a key team member leading IEG strategic focus on offering a holistic approach to assist our customers in overcoming their clean and sustainable energy challenges," he added.
A UAE national, Zeyad was a Technologist at Fortune 500 multinational, Eaton Corporation, where he spent 7 years leading the development and commercialization of several technologies and products in multiple industries. Zeyad has participated in several major US technology innovation initiatives and holds 6 US and international patents.
During the last 5 years, Zeyad served in business strategy at TECOM, and government policy development at Dubai Development and Investment Authority, and have extensively worked on Dubai's R&D strategy and the potential for renewable energy in the UAE economy.
"I believe that the gulf region holds a great potential for clean and renewable energy, due to its unique geo-economics; The UAE stands to lead in this area, by virtue of its open and competitive economy. The infrastructure and energy challenges the UAE is facing due to rapid growth, present an opportunity to grow new energy businesses and economic sub-sectors, and to use our stress conditions to drive innovation," said Zeyad Almajed.
IEG is a subsidiary of the UAE business conglomerate, S.S. Lootah Group. IEG launch in Dubai in September 2005 at the Advanced Energy Technologies conference marked the formation of the first international business alliance to promote, develop and manage commercially viable clean and renewable energy projects in the Middle East region.
