MBC Group wins 15 international creative awards in New York

MBC Group has become the first Middle Easterner to win any gold awards at the PROMAX and BDA World Gold Awards in New York.

In its first participation at the conference, MBC's Creative Services scooped the pool with 15 of the highly prestigious awards with eight gold and seven silver.

"The Promax and BDA World Gold Awards are the most prestigious advertising, designing and marketing awards in for the creative industry," said Fadel Zahreddine, Group Director of MBC Creative Services.

"These awards prove that MBC is now on par with major networks worldwide. Networks that we, as young creatives in an emerging market, used to look up to as paragons of excellence are now in the same league as us."


PROMAX and BDA World Gold Awards are regarded as the highest accolades for creative professionals working in television, radio and digital media from around the world. The ceremony took place on June 20 to 22 in New York.

"The Middle East has been seen as trailing behind the rest of the world in terms of creativity in media, this outstanding achievement firmly places the Middle East on the world stage as leaders in creativity."

Realizing the power and potential of the broadcast media for promotions, MBC has leveraged its expertise in production and broadcasting to create high impact plugs to promote the TV network and its programs across seven channels to its target audience.

The awards also recognized MBC's achievements in creating branding and other services through MEN for Bahrain TV.

These latest accolades follow MBC's success in winning 13 awards at PROMAX and BDA Arabia Awards that was held four months ago in Dubai including six Gold Medals for Best on On-Air Branding, Best On-Air Ident, Best News, Factual or Factual Entertainment Promo, Best Film Promo, Best Use of Music and Sound Design and Best Programme Promo.
