Already welcoming students from over 70 countries from around the world, Singapore has long prided itself on its education system and promotes a distinct mix of educational services with focuses on basic, higher, corporate levels as well as enrichment courses.

The aim of the programme is to engage more Saudi Arabian schools and educational institutions in overseas learning programmes, providing students with a wide range of extracurricular activities, as well as a high level learning experience.

'The summer programmes that are now being promoted across the Kingdom fall under the 'enrichment courses' category, which include overseas school trips and personal development courses. These trips can range from three days going all the way up to four weeks,' said Alan Tan, Area Director Middle East and Africa, Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

'Singapore and Saudi Arabia have developed an increasing number of exchange programmes in the business, political and cultural sectors, and we are delighted to see the increasing number of educational programmes being launched,' he added.

Singapore not only boasts innovative and interesting places to study, it prides itself on its wide range and high quality of language schools. School groups from Saudi Arabia will be catered for with a number of specially-customised programmes, designed to increase language skills and boost confidence.

The island city-state has also built up a strong reputation as a science hub in its region and strong emphasis is placed on its study. With a dedicated 'Science Centre,' students can visit exhibits in one of its 12 galleries with over 1,000 scientific exhibits. Customised workshops can also be arranged for small to large groups.

As well as mental exercise, Singapore offers a series of outdoor and adventure training facilities with emphasis on team-work and leadership skills training, such as the famous SPARKc.

Singapore Education, the multi-government agency established in 2003 to promote the Far-East city-state as a centre of educational excellence, along with Singapore Tourism Board (STB), are both supporting the 'Summer Education' initiative.
