UAE firm, $1.5bn Sri Lanka deal

The Sri Lankan government has awarded a UAE based firm the contract to develop a new 100,000 bpd oil refinery which would triple the nation's output, reported Reuters. The un-named company has two years in which to get the project off the ground. Sri Lanka is also planning to expand its only existing refinery, which currently produces 50,000 bpd.
