Etisalat Academy's eSummer enlightening the days of UAE children

As part of the eSummer Programme for 2006, the Etisalat Academy staff organized weekly trips to educational and fun filled places in Dubai and Sharjah.

The trips were organized in a way that the children would benefit in as much ways as they could, and to ease and make learning a more pleasurable experience.

The children's weekly trips have included many enjoyable places. The first week saw the children at the Arabia's Wildlife Centre, Sharjah. The children visited and were toured around the centre learning new facts about the animals of the wild and to show them how rich in diversity the fauna of the Arabian Peninsula is. The eSummer children also went to the Children's City, Dubai. The children enjoyed all the recreational as well as educational facilities. A trip to Adventure Land at Sahara Centre was one of the recreational trips for the children. Children enjoyed all the games that the fun house had to offer.

Dr. Doaa Fares, General Manager - Etisalat Academy, said: 'The eSummer activities are organized so that children of the community can benefit from the summer vacation. Now that summer is here, they can still gain from the months ahead to sustain themselves in enjoyable and educational activities.'

For the final weeks of the eSummer programme, every Wednesday a special discussion is presented to the children by a spokesperson from the General Authority for Information. The first discussion was titled 'Miss Cakes.' This was presented only to the senior girls, aged 9 to 13, of the programme, showing them of the proper lady behavior. The other discussion was presented to both senior boys and girls, aged 9 to 13, and it was titled, 'Coffee Cups.' The discussion gave helpful hints on proper ways to treat, respect and talk with their parents.

Alanood Al Hashemi, eSummer Project Manager - Etisalat Academy, said: 'We at the Academy have come up with a program that is a balance of fun and education. The academic school year has ended, but that does not mean that the children's education comes to a complete halt, we at the Academy prioritize education above all. The special activities that can be attended by the children at the Academy are truly beneficial for the children. Also, facilities such as the Etisalat Academy library, which is full of educational tools, are offered for the children's keen use.'

The Etisalat Academy eSummer Programme is an enriching experience for children aged 6 to 13 years old where they can use and enjoy all the facilities of the Recreation and Sports Complex at the Etisalat Academy. Also, the weekly trips organized offer endless recreational and educational experiences for the children.
