Building on its long-standing support of the event, DWTC a key sponsor of the event is organising its own event this year, the DSS - Summer Family Fiesta 2006.

Jointly presented by Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Summer Surprises, DSS - Summer Family Fiesta 2006 is a unique event that celebrates the best in food, fun and flair. Encompassing three distinct events - Summer Food Festival, Recreation & Games Festival and Hobbies & Crafts Festival - it will also provide a platform to market and exhibit products from across the UAE and GCC. To be held from August 22-26, 2006 from 12pm to 9pm at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, the family fiesta is slated to be a prime attraction of the DSS this year as it will incorporate activities, events and exhibitions.

DSS has gradually moved from being a children-centric event to being an event that provides wholesome entertainment to the entire family. Keeping in line with the same concept, the DSS - Summer Family Fiesta 2006 offers families to enjoy delicious international cuisine, entertainment, beautiful handicrafts, fun activities and demonstrations. There will be loads of mega prizes up for grabs from Damas, Wild Wadi and Grand Cinemas. On the spot lucky draws will also be conducted and the winners will walk away with some fabulous prizes. Entry to the events is Dh5 for adults and free for children below 14.

"The Dubai Summer Surprises is an excellent example of how organisations across Dubai work together to provide a series of unique experiences for residents and visitors, transforming what used to be the traditionally slow summer period into a highlight of the year," said Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre.

Added Al Marri, "The Dubai World Trade Centre is proud to be a sponsor of the key event and we look forward to ensuring that our contribution in 2006 supports the plans to make this year bigger and better than ever before," he said.
The event not only packs fun and entertainment for the families but also provides a medium to do business. It is seen as a platform to give greater exposure to local brands to reach out to a wider consumer base from across the GCC as well as several other countries of the world.
The DWTC has been hosting some of the Middle East's largest and most prestigious business exhibitions - including GITEX, Gulfood, Arabian Travel Market and Big 5, and the upcoming DSS Summer Family Fiesta 2006 will be yet another feather in the cap of the hosts.

The 10-week long DSS, which opened with the Ice Surprises week on June 21 and marked the Arts Surprises, Food Surprises and continues with the weekly themes of Adventure Surprises, Cartoon Surprises, Nature Surprises, Knowledge Surprises, Flower Surprises, Heritage Surprises, and concludes with Back-2-School Surprises on September 1.
