Minister of National Council Affairs H.E. Dr. Anwar Mohammad Gargash visited the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) registration center in Karama, Dubai on Wednesday to register himself under the Population Register and National ID Card (PRIDC) program.
The minister's registration came a few days after the registration program was initiated by President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. "Sheikh Khalifa's initiative mirrors our leadership's genuine concern in supporting innovative national projects that help further our economic and social development and security," Dr. Gargash said after registering under the program.

"This program is crucial at this stage of our country's history as it reinforces our commitment to development. A key objective of the program is to create an accurate and reliable database that will help in the country's planning process,"

he added. He also noted that the program applies the most advanced technologies to create a multi-purpose information database that will support and protect the identity of citizens and residents.

H.E. Saeed Al Dhaheri, Director General of EIDA, briefed Dr. Gargash about the program. He urged all sections of the society to support the Authority's efforts and make the program successful.

"We would like to take this opportunity to confirm that registration is now open for all ministries and federal institutions' employees and their families," Al Dhaheri added.

EIDA is implementing a modern population register and ID Card program, which is designed to protect personal identities from fraudulent or unauthorized use, support government planning services, and position the UAE as a leader in leveraging information technology for national development.
