Speeding Dubai drivers face fines

The past week has seen a total of 2,683 speeding offences on Dubai's roads, an average of almost two offences every minute, reported Gulf News. Since the Dubai Police started a road safety campaign on July 8, motorists have generated fines well in excess of $800,000. The UAE has seen an average of 26 fatalities per month so far this year, up from 20 per month last year.
