Motorola to award special talent at Ibda'a Awards

Motorola announced today it will be presenting a separate prize to one of the 45 Dubai Media City Ibda'a Awards contestants to recognise excellence in 'creativity in the field of telecommunications.'
Motorola, one of the key sponsors of the Ibda'a Awards, which will culminate with a ceremony under the auspices of H.H Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum on 11th November at Dubai Media City, will award a V66 phone, the latest model from Motorola for the best creative work related to telecommunications. The prize will be presented to the winner on the eve of the Ibda'a Awards ceremony.
"We expect a lot of university talent to be showcased at Dubai Media City that week and as a main supporter, we wanted to give a little extra to one of the candidates," said Shiromi Perera, Managing Director, UAE- Regional Manager Communications and Public Affairs, Middle East and Africa Regional Corporate Office.
"We are proud to be associated with this inaugural event and are committed to supporting the future generations of men and women in communications," Perera added.
Instituted by the Dubai Media City, Ibda'a, which means creativity in Arabic, is open to all university and college students in their junior or senior year in countries across the Middle East, as well as India and South Africa.. The purpose of the Ibda'a Awards is to celebrate creative excellence in different fields of the media. The awards, in the form of internships with participating institutions,, invite student media projects in seven categories: Journalism, Radio, TV, Film Production, Photography, Graphic Design and advertising. Seven winners will be selected by the jury from an initial shortlist of 45 finalists.
