Previously only offered to the company's portfolio of clients, this service has now been extended to cover the whole of the KSA; it will also support other offices in the network in Dubai and Bahrain. The new practice is already handling several major events, including the Saudi Telecom 2006 Roadshow and will also be working on pan-Gulf region events including Gitex Dubai later this year. Part of the focus for Memac Ogilvy's event management practice is to also introduce new event technology to the events and conferences in the region that will deliver never before seen equipment on behalf of clients, showcasing the newest technology available across the world.

The service is designed to take the pain out of event management; offering a fully rounded set of services. According to Greg Wixted, PR Director Memac Ogilvy PR, Riaydh, companies can make use of the full set of services or single elements. Wixted continues:

"We want to offer our client's expert consultancy on everything from creating an innovative stands to advice on roadshows - for instance, when a company is about to IPO. Alternatively we can deliver the whole event, and all clients need do is sign off on a few decisions throughout the process, and turn up on the day!"

Working as part of the PR Department, the practice has recruited a new team whose remit includes expanding the existing events business of clients such as Saudi Telecom. The new practice is also starting to attract its own clients. The specialist team has managed large scale, high profile events across Europe, and with more than 30 year's experience between them. The event management team is also linked in to the Memac Ogilvy network in Dubai and Bahrain and will work with the Riyadh office's one-to-one operation, OgilvyOne.

Alex Whetham who will head the new team said "The events market in the KSA is starting to change; clients are more ambitious and paying more attention to quality of implementation - they also want innovative, well managed events that reflect the strength of their own brands. When the environment changes, you either pull things along in the same direction as everyone else or get pushed out of the way. The new Event Management practice compliments Memac Ogilvy Riyadh's existing services and offers clients with the most professional and experienced teams in the Kingdom - capable of realizing the most demanding specifications."
