Other equipment supplied by Bosch for the Mercedes GL-Class includes the starter, alternator, the airbag control system with its sensors for fast, reliable impact detection, the parking aid and the pressure controller for automatic gearboxes.
Bosch's Common Rail injection system consists of the control unit, piezo-inline injectors, high-pressure pump and a variety of sensors and actuators. The piezo injectors in the diesel injection system operate with great speed and precision; they make an important contribution to reducing the emissions by up to 20 per cent. Engine control units, throttle equipment, spark plugs and sensors are amongst the equipment Bosch supplies for the gasoline engines.
Oleg Riabtsev, General Manager, Middle East operations, Bosch Automotive Aftermarket (Bosch AA), said,
"The developers of the new Mercedes-Benz GL-Class have paid particular attention to the engine, and their decision to choose Bosch technology speaks volumes of the quality and reliability of our products. We have always focused on manufacturing products that deliver the highest standards of performance, and the fact that leading automobile manufacturers like Mercedes have been using our products over the years is proof of the superiority of our automotive equipment."
