MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) achieves ISO/IEC27001:2005 certification

MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) is the first in the Middle East to achieve ISO/IEC27001:2005 upgraded version of the International Standard for Information Security Management Systems, which supports the operation of a mobile network and services.

MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) is also registered with the ISO 9001:2000 standards as of 08/06/05 as well as BS 7799:2:2002 (former Information Security Management Systems Standard.

"Achieving the ISO/IEC27001:2005 certification affirms MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) position in the market and region, as leaders in conducting business as per the International Standards",


said Dr. Basim Al Baharna, MTC-Vodafone (Quality Assurance Director, MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) certified with ISO/IEC27001:2005 Information Security Management Systems Certification with the international standard for Information Security Management Systems.

He further commented, "We are the first to achieve Information Security Management Systems certification. Information is an asset which, like other important business assets, has value to MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) and therefore needs to be suitably protected. Information security protects information from a wide range of threats in order to ensure business continuity, minimize business damage and maximize return on investments and business opportunities. Hence, asserting customers that MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) is working with International Standards in protecting information and security will continue to remain our priority."
