Gulf Air announces flight schedule from Damascus to help stranded passengers

Following the closure of Beirut's international airport, Gulf Air has suspended its flights to Beirut until 23 July 2006.
Gulf Air has announced the following flight schedule until 24 July 2006.

This will be reviewed on a daily basis and passengers will be notified of any further changes to the schedule.
"We are reviewing the situation on a day-to-day basis and do whatever possible to help passengers reach Bahrain," says Gulf Air Vice President Operations Captain Hameed Ali.
"Passengers' safety is our first priority and we are working with all authorities concerned to ensure they return home safely."
Gulf Air has also made refund or rebooking arrangements for passengers with confirmed bookings to or from Beirut at no additional cost until 23 July 2006.
In the meantime, Gulf Air's Vice President Services Tariq Sultan is in Damascus to see the smooth transfer of passengers from Syria to Bahrain.
"Tariq is currently in Damascus with a team of operations and airport services personnel to personally ensure that Bahraini, Omani and other nationals are safely transferred out," says Captain Ali.
"The teams in Bahrain, Damascus and Beirut are working round the clock to ensure all facilities and operations run smoothly."
