QR $4.9bn Boeing order confusion

Boeing announced it had secured an order with Qatar Airways for 20 of its B777 planes in a deal worth $4.9bn, according to news agencies. It said the mix of 14 extended range 777-300ERs and six longer range 777-200LRs will be delivered from 2007. But a spokesman for the airline told Dow Jones Newswires that no deal had yet been finalised, and that a press release by Boeing had been put out by mistake.
