etisalat upgrades multiservice network with Juniper Networks routing platforms

The Juniper routers will enable etisalat to reliably and efficiently support current and next generation voice, video and data communications services for over five million customers in the United Arab Emirates.

etisalat is one of the UAE's leading telecoms providers, and previously installed Juniper M-series routers to support its Internet backbone and international exchange points. With the addition of Juniper's E-series broadband services routers and M320 routers, etisalat has created one of the first true multiservice network cores in the Middle East. The converged IP/MPLS architecture provides a scalable, intelligent network, enabling etisalat to deliver new triple play IP services such as IPTV, while supporting existing Internet, ATM, Frame Relay and mobile IP services.
