In line with Serco Middle East's plans to expand their Integrated Services business in the region, Barker brings with him over 15 years experience in the Property and Facilities Management industry having delivered related services to many Fortune 500 and public sector companies in over 20 countries. His in-depth knowledge of developing and delivering integrated service solutions will help to further develop and expand Serco Middle East's full capabilities as the principle infrastructure services company in the region.
Commenting on his new role, Barker stated:
"Serco has been developing the range of services that we provide in the Middle East since our inception in 1947. The scale of property development in the region necessitates a range of infrastructure management services beyond those that the property and Facilities Management industry has traditionally delivered. Serco's broader service capability means that we are uniquely placed to be able to respond to the market need and we are leveraging global experience, not just western best practice to achieve this."
Barker's recent positions have included National Director for Corporate Property Services at Jones Lang LaSalle in India and Hong Kong where he established their Facilities Management business in a number of countries throughout Asia. Barker was then appointed as Regional Director Asset Services for Cushman & Wakefield based in Singapore where again he helped establish their regional Facilities Management business in 14 countries in Asia Pacific. He has worked in Asia for the past 9 years.
