Asteco appoints new head for Abu Dhabi sales operations
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, July 18 - 2006 at 14:48
- PRESS RELEASE
Real estate and property services leader Asteco has appointed Damian Hill as its Sales Team Leader for its rapidly expanding operations in Abu Dhabi.
"The introduction of the 99-year leasehold law allowing expatriates to purchase property in Abu Dhabi has changed the capital's real estate sector," explained Andrew Chambers, Managing Director, Asteco. "New projects are coming on board and there has been an increase in demand for professional property services."
"Damian is a valuable addition to the team and has important experience in retail, commercial and leisure property markets internationally. His role will add new focus to Asteco's operations in Abu Dhabi and propel growth in the capital," added Chambers
Under Hill's direction, Asteco's sales team will be able to explore opportunities beyond the scope of traditional real estate agencies. Until now, activities of real estate agents in Abu Dhabi have been limited only to management and leasing of residential and commercial property. There was no sales market existent as only locals and, in some instances, GCC nationals could purchase property.
It was only after the announcement of the new property law that development of mega projects such as Al Reem Island, Saadiyat Island and Al Raha Beach Resort began, according to Hill.
"The sales market is now beginning to grow and we foresee more investment in the UAE's capital over the next two to three years. And, as with all markets Asteco enters, I would like to grow the sales team which will not only dominate the market but also earn reputation as the capitals pre-eminent professional property services provider," Hill pointed out.
Prior to his arrival in the UAE, Hill was Associate Director of Savills in Sydney for five years between 2001 and 2005. While at Savills, Hill was awarded 'Agent of the Year' throughout the state of New South Wales in 2005.
Hill began his career with CB Richard Ellis in Melbourne and worked with them from 1987 to 1991. He was also Associate Director for CB Richard Ellis in Sydney from 1995 to 2001.
While in Sydney, Hill managed property portfolios of more than 65,000 square metres for the Investor Property Group. Other clients represented by him include, Challenger Financial Services, Colonial First State Property and AMP Global Investors.
Founded in Dubai in 1985, Asteco is the UAE's largest property services company. Its services include retail, commercial and residential sales and leasing; strategic consultancy; property management and marketing; feasibility studies and valuations; and research and investment.
