In an inventive challenge, participants will not only experience the trip of a lifetime, but will also raise funds for children and the blind in Oman. This will be the first organized charitable or commercial group ever to attempt the journey.

The Charity's Chairman Brian Wilkie said in an interview, "Kayaking around the Musandam was the first adventure I had ever participated in. Although it was definitely tough, it was so exhilarating that it helped give birth to the idea of Gulf For Good."

Known as the "Norway of Arabia" because of its fjord-like inlets, Musandam is the northern-most part of Oman, overlooking the Straits of Hormuz at the entrance of the Arabian Gulf. Surrounded by mountains up to 2000 metres above sea level and with numerous islands to view on the journey, kayaking here is not only visually stunning but is also a great way to explore the most unspoilt part of the Gulf.

Starting in Khasab, the challengers will journey the entire peninsula in 7 days, concluding the trip in Dibba. Stopping along the way in places such as Kumzar, Lima and Ziggy Beach, challengers will get to see and experience a remote part of the region in a way that few others have ever had the opportunity to.

Gulf for Good has already received a number of enquiries from men and women who are interested in signing up for this charitable expedition. One such enthusiast said, "It would be a great feeling to know that I will be doing something for the good of others and that I will be rewarded with this exciting adventure at the end of it."

A major aim of Gulf for Good and the Musandam Challenge is to bring together people of all backgrounds to push their own limits whilst raising money for a good cause. If you are relatively fit, 18 years or over and are willing to dedicate some of your time to raise money for a charitable cause, Gulf for Good wants to hear from you. No kayaking experience is necessary, as training sessions will be held. However, participant numbers will be limited.
