The new 9,415 teu "CMA-CGM FIDELIO" moved smoothly alongside and work commenced immediately on the 7,800 plus container exchange discharging and loading cargo for the U.A.E., the Upper Gulf and Indian Ocean ports. The FAL service vessel with an overall length of 349 metres and a GRT of 109,000 tonnes has a service speed of 25 knots. The container terminal at Khorfakkan managed and operated by Gulftainer Company Limited welcomed the giant vessel with tugs spraying fountains of water through their fire fighting equipment.

"We were delighted to see this impressive vessel alongside our new berth" said Peter Richards, the new General Manager of Gulftainer Co. Ltd., "we are one of the few ports in the region that can handle this size of vessel and, I might add, the next generation of very large container ships as well! It is also fortuitous that her visit coincided with the 30th anniversary of the very close cooperation between Gulftainer Company Limited and Sharjah Port Authority" He went on to say, "The seamless collaboration between the Port Authority and ourselves has been a major contributing factor to the ongoing success of Khorfakkan".
