Just a few weeks are left before the launch of the 4th version of MEDITECH 2006 international exhibition for Medical Services, Hospital Supplies & Laboratory Equipment. Many businessmen who are interested to spend the Summer vacation in Egypt are to adapt their plans to mix joy with business by extending their visit till mid September to catch the event that will be held from 14-17 September, 2006 at the Cairo International Fair Ground. The ongoing modernization programmes in the health sector, the increasing demand for high-tech medical items, especially laboratory and testing equipment opened a wide range of competition between local manufactures and international ones who are all targeting the lucrative ever-growing market of the Middle East and North Africa.

What makes MEDITECH prominent is the fact that it gathers under one roof several manufacturing schools from all over the world who are all competing together in quality, technology and services to attract the traders and importers specially those who are seeking to sign regional agency contracts. The exhibition is a small cosmopolitan where exhibitors come from Europe, Far East and Egypt. Exhibitors come to the event from: Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, Pakistan, Russia, Slovenia, South Africa, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, U.K., U.A.E., U.S.A. in addition to Egypt.

The show is an opportunity to benefit from those miscellaneous resources of medical equipment that vary in quality and also in prices. While Egypt is currently competing to introduce medical equipment in a good quality but still at modest prices, the traditional school of the Far East is presenting the massive production at low prices, but with higher technology to compete with the high quality of Europe who ,on their turn, are now seeking to present their products with less prices to appeal to the new market trends.

There are several factors contributing to make MEDITECH both promising and growing. The show is organized by ACG-ITF, the leading organizers of international trade exhibitions in the MENA region with a portfolio of several well-established, successful exhibition brands. Moreover, and according to Ahmed Ghozzi, Chairman of ACG-ITF: 'MEDITECH plays a key facilitating role in the provision of health services and technology in the MENA region by bringing together leading international manufacturers and suppliers to cater to health needs, and has evolved into a powerful industry forum to address the medical needs of the region'.

Furthermore, MEDITECH is being held in Egypt, the largest MENA country in population and its capital Cairo is regionally considered as the traditional medical resort, same as London to Europe.

'MEDITECH 2006 targets not only international companies interested to penetrate the prospects of a promising market, but also traders and importers who are seeking to be presented to a broad and variant resources of suppliers coming from different regions of the world, and thus the show is presenting great opportunities for both parties,' said Nora Soliman, Business Development Manager, ACG-ITF.

MEDITECH exhibit profile includes, but not limited to, all equipment & materials of dentistry, surgery devices, hospital interiors & furniture, equipment & supplies, health centre equipment & supplies, internal health & safety equipment, laboratory analysis, medical monitor and instrumentation, consumables, reagents, equipments & supplies and non-pharmaceutical products such as: blood glucose monitoring, weight measuring machines, skin care products, herbal medicine, contraceptives …etc. Such wide range of products is in itself a factor of attraction to the show visitors who are eager to get in touch with the latest technologies that will be soon available at the retail market.
