The $70m Dubai Flower Centre, a centre for shipping perishable products, has handled 3,475 tonnes of goods in ten days since starting operations. It has a capacity to handle 180,000 tonnes of perishable products a year. The centre currently handles all perishable goods shipped by Emirates airline.
