RTA launches its suggestion scheme 'Fikraty'

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) announces 'Fikraty' a staff suggestion scheme at a press conference held Tuesday at its premises.
Present at the conference were Abdulmohsin Ibrahim, CEO of Strategy & Corporate Governance, Laila Hareb, Director of Strategy and Corporate Performance Department and Badriya Mohammed Khalifa, Media Manager, RTA.
Abdulmohsin said, " 'Fikraty' will encourage bilateral exchange of ideas that are necessary for growth. The objective of the scheme is to open and ease external and internal communication channels which will aid the operations of the entity with its primary focus being the development of the transport in the Emirate. This scheme will facilitate creative thinking and thus help us improve our performance. All positive suggestions will be rewarded."
The RTA will welcome suggestions through the website, by email and through a prescribed template which can be filled and handed over personally at the RTA office. Other alternatives to register suggestions include calling the Authority or the call center on 8009090.
All suggestions will be evaluated according to prescribed standards relevant to the mode of operation, costs involved, revenues anticipated after implementation and the availability of time.
Laila Hareb, said," People will be rewarded for their suggestions according to revenues generated from the projects post their implementation.
Remunerations will be based on the following four categories:
Revenues generated worth AED 100,000 to AED 500,000 will be awarded a cash prize of AED 8,000.
Those worth AED 500,000 to AED 750,000 will be awarded AED 12,000.
A cash reward of AED 20,000 will be given for profits which meet the merit of AED 750,000 to 1,000,000
While those projects which exceed profits worth 1,000,000 will get AED 40,000.
Winners will also benefit from points that will be attributed for their suggestions. For every suggestion, 5 points will be credited to him along with a cash prize. If the winner is an RTA employee he will receive paid leaves along with the cash price entitled. On collecting 20 or 30 points, the winners will receive AED 1500 and AED 2500 respectively and RTA employees will be entitled for a day's paid off. Those that collect 40 points will receive AED 3500 and if he classifies as an RTA employee he will be entitled to two day's paid leave and while those that collect 50 points will receive AED 4500 with three days paid leave. The last group includes all those that collect 60 points. These winners will receive AED 5500 and if are RTA employees will also be eligible for three days paid leave."
Rewards will also be given to individuals and groups for suggestions relevant to smaller projects which generate monetary or non-monetary results. These rewards will be based on the following categories:
Best individual suggestion that generates monetary or non monetary positive results will be awarded AED 5000 or travel tickets or the 'Dalili' navigation system.
Second best individual suggestion that generates positive results will be awarded AED 2500, or three days and two-nights in a five star hotel in the UAE or a seasonal car parking card which is applicable all over Dubai.
Two best group suggestions that generate positive outputs will be given purchasing coupons according to the number of people in the group.
She added that the coordinators of different units and departments in the RTA will be rewarded annually by the Chairman of the Board and the Executive Director to encourage them to excel in developing the system.
Mr. Abdulla Ibrahim Abdul Jabbar, who won the competition for the designing of the "Fikraty" logo had been honored. The logo reflects the objective of the scheme and symbolizes open and easy communication channels between people in and outside the entity.
