The Public Relations and Organisations Department, which coordinates the drive, has placed donation collection boxes at the DM headquarters in Bani Yas, Dubai Central Laboratory in Al Karama, the Central Public Library in Al Ras, Children's City in Creek park, Al Towar DM Centre, Umm Suqeim DM Centre.

"This humanitarian drive stems from our policy in the field of corporate social responsibility. Apart from encouraging our customers who come to our offices to donate for this cause, we are also sending SMS to customers who are in our database," said a department official.

The campaign will last until 2 August 2006. Dubai Municipality had organised similar campaigns in the past at the time of natural calamities and man-made disasters.
