With the unyielding regional sun, the skin of your car is both fashion statement and vital protection. Therefore as Volkswagen re-launches the brand across the Middle East, a team of trend experts have compiled a portfolio of shades that will consistently turn heads while protecting the vehicle long-term.

'Middle East buyers are quite specific about the colour of their cars. We've recognized that, as well as expecting class leading technology, they also have a unique and a keen sense of style,' says Andreas Prinz, Managing Director of Volkswagen Middle East.

In recent years, Reflex Silver Metallic and Pearlescent Black Magic were the most popular choices of paint finish for Volkswagen cars in many countries around the globe. Cars such as the Polo, Golf, and Passat with the classic Volkswagen Black considered an immortal choice. Trend experts predict the Middle East market is set to shift to silver and metallic variants very soon, with primary base colours taking precedent. With a broad spectrum of colours ranging from more than 360 shades, the many discerning Middle Eastern buyers choose white being one of the most preferred colours in the Region, mainly due to it thermal reflective qualities. White at Volkswagen is not just white, but comes in various shades, such as Candy White and Campanella White with the latter being an off-white.

The decision to maintain Candy White is derived from its wide popularity in the Region. Middle Eastern drivers are drawn to the colour's sporty-cum-elegant effect, as well as its popularity among automotive purists and driving enthusiasts. Much like them, the Region's drivers enjoy the elegance and specialist clarity of Candy White.

Special effects and finishes are also increasingly in demand. Metallics are set to be the most wanted finishes in the Region as they highlight the class and stature of any vehicle, and Volkswagen Middle East will offer a spectacular range of finishes for all its vehicles. For the more discerning customer, specialized procedures are available such as heliochrome finishes which can fade between three colours simultaneously depending on the angle of viewing and lighting conditions.

Echoing this market's emphasis on style and image, Volkswagen's international team has taken inspiration from global design culture to hone their pot of many colours and finishes. Be it a fashion show in Paris, a furniture fair in Italy or the work of star architects from around the globe; Volkswagen vehicles in the Region boast a rich design and colourful heritage.
