- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, July 27 - 2006 at 12:13
- PRESS RELEASE
The Middle East HR Summit 2006, taking place from 17 to 20 September in Dubai, will bring the world's reigning strategy guru Professor Gary Hamel to Dubai, in his sole planned appearance in the Middle East during 2006.
A Fellow of the World Economic Forum, Professor Hamel has worked with management teams of leading companies such as Shell, Nokia, CGU, Ford and others helping to create strategies that have generated billions of dollars in new wealth. His workshop will introduce participants to a ground breaking methodology for reinventing their corporate management principles, processes and practices and show how to apply this methodology to the critical next generation business challenges that contemporary organisations face.
A pioneer of core business concepts such as 'strategic intent', 'core competence', 'corporate imagination' and 'industry revolution', and an author of prize-winning articles and best-selling books on business strategy, Professor Hamel will also highlight ways of building organisations that are fit for the future.
"Having someone of Professor Hamel's stature and repute is indeed an honour for us. His clarity of vision sets definitive practices for all business professionals to follow and we are certain that his presence will add to the significance of the summit. The Middle East HR Summit brings together industry professionals from all industry areas.
'They will gain immensely from Professor Hamel's innovative and ground breaking management techniques and principles that are aligned with contemporary corporate practices. It is this dynamic mix of practices and opinions that propels the summit to the forefront of the local business scene," said Jackie Wilks, Conference Director for IIR Middle East, organisers of the event.
Professor Hamel has published 13 articles in Harvard Business Review, making him the most re-printed author in the history of the magazine. Four of these articles have received the prestigious McKinsey prize for excellence, a feat unmatched by any other management author.
As one of the world's most sought after management speakers, Professor Hamel has addressed the World Economic Forum, the Fortune 500 Global Summit and many other important gatherings. Professor Hamel also advises national leaders on matters of innovation policy, entrepreneurship and industrial competitiveness.
Professor Hamel is a Visiting Professor of Strategic and International Management at London Business School and is leading an effort at the School to build the world's first 'Management Innovation Lab', a pioneering attempt to create a setting in which progressive companies and world renowned management scholars work together to co-create 'tomorrow's best practices' today and thus accelerate the evolution of management knowledge and practice.
The information packed sessions and expert panel discussions will provide an excellent learning opportunity for HR professionals. Supplemented by unique networking opportunities, The Middle East HR Summit 2006 will allow enthusiasts and critics the exceptional opportunity to be part of Professor Gary Hamel's audience.
"Following the success of the Middle East HR Summit in September 2005, attendance confirmations are coming in very quickly. As seats are limited, it is best to confirm presence in advance," concluded Wilks.
