This summer, 25 percent of the business administration and computer science students joined the university's internship program.

"Our internship program provides students an equal opportunity to gain valuable work experience and make business contacts with potential employers, while allowing employers to prescreen the next crop of graduates," said Khadra Dualeh, Director of Professional Development, Carnegie Mellon Qatar.

Students from Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, India and Pakistan participated in internships with leading organizations in the fields of technology, oil and gas, banking, medicine, telecommunications and commerce. Companies that have participated in Carnegie Mellon Qatar's internship program include ConocoPhillips, Specialty Teaching Hospital, Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Telecom, HSBC, RasGas, General Electric and Qatar Ministry of Finance.

Carnegie Mellon Qatar offers its students all the benefits of top quality education from one of the most prestigious universities in the U.S., boasting the same high quality teaching, curricula and faculty as its Pittsburgh campus. This provides Middle Eastern and Asian students the opportunity to stay closer to family and friends.

"With the help of our internship program, students gain the necessary practical experience to embark on successful careers. We anticipate they will be the most sought-after employees of the future," said Dualeh.
