Dubai gets "Smart" with traffic

A "Smart Traffic System" is being put in place around Dubai's main roads. It is hoped it will alleviate traffic congestion by helping detect and increase response times to accidents and breakdowns. The system of surveillance cameras, sensors and electronic signboards should be in place by October 2006.
