Dubai Bank hires new Chief Financial Officer

Following a number of new announcements and plans for widespread expansion in its retail banking activities throughout the UAE, Dubai Bank has recently engaged in actively hiring high caliber bankers and key staff.

Included in the growing list of new senior staff are seasoned Islamic Bankers that will assist Dubai Bank in its conversion process to becoming a Shari'a compliant institution. Amongst its latest recruits, Dubai Bank has hired Mr. Ahmed Elshall as the new Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Ahmed Elshall is an MBA, CPA and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with qualifications that include financial and investment planning adhering to the highest internationally recognized standards of competence and ethical practices. With more than 20 years of experience in investment, commercial and Islamic banking, Mr. Elshall is well positioned to add valuable insight into Dubai Bank's development and expansion strategy.

He served as Senior Vice President and Group Head in charge of strategic projects at Union National Bank following a stint with the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank where he held the position of Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning and Financial Control.

Mr. Elshall also served as the Financial Controller, International Division and Senior Manager for Strategic Planning at Riyadh Bank and as the Manager, Investors Tax Reporting Group at the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation in Washington D.C.
