PBTL's subscriber base grew by more than 50 per cent from April to June this year, making it a considerable milestone for both partners. Bangladesh's largest CDMA operator, PBTL, is a subsidiary of SingTel and selected Huawei at the end of 2005 to deploy a CDMA2000 network valued at over hundred million dollars.

As part of this turnkey project, Huawei provided end-to-end solutions including infrastructure products, WIN, handsets, transmission products, civil engineering, network operation management and maintenance. Huawei also enabled PBTL to introduce a range of new services such as CRBT, MMS, VMS, SMS and WAP for its subscribers.

Chye Hoon Pin, CEO of PBTL said, "With the best infrastructure and services, PBTL will become the best mobile operator in this market. This cannot be achieved without a reliable supplier for our network. Huawei was chosen as our infrastructure supplier and outsourced managed service provider for these exact reasons. We believe our partnership with Huawei will become a model for other future projects."

Currently, Huawei has over 5,000 networks engineers in more than 80 countries providing fast-responses and high quality services for our global customers. As part of Huawei's vision of enriching people's life through communication, the company is committed to bringing excellent services and innovative technologies to its consumers.

"Huawei is honored to provide our products, solutions and services for PBTL. This marks the continuation of the long-term partnership we have with PBTL. Huawei will consistently provide innovative and customised products and services to create long-term value and potential growth for all our customers," said Wang Jiading, vice president, Huawei Technologies, Middle East and North Africa region.
