Delegates from Italy visit RTA

The Ambassador of Italy, Paolo Dionisi and First Commercial Secretary Andrea Vitolo, visited the Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai and met with H.E. Matter Al Tayer, Executive Officer and Chairman of the board, RTA.

The visit falls in line with RTA's goals of establishing its cooperation and expertise as an entity locally, nationally and internationally.

With a common vision of developing new concepts and services that optimize traffic flow, maximize safety and minimize expenses, this meeting proved to be promising. It facilitated an exchange of bilateral views on transport and technology, emphasizing on the development and upcoming projects of roads and the infrastructure in Dubai.

The delegates were also given an overview on the newly established organizational structure and the functioning of all its departments that work with a common objective to achieve the vision of providing smooth and safe transport for all in the Emirate.

H.E. Matter Al Tayer said, "The RTA is committed towards achieving and adopting the best practices at every stage that will lead to the achievement of our objectives of making transport in our countries safe and secure and will contribute in highlighting the presence of the Emirate globally. This visit of the Italian officials has been an honor for us and it has facilitated the exchange of ideas on developing the transport sector."

H.E. Ambassador of Italy, Paolo Dionisi, congratulated H.E. Mattar Al Tayer for the significant achievements of the RTA, under the wise leaderhisp and vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. "There is great potential" - H.E. Ambassador Dionisi said, "for a more consistent participation of the Italian companies in the huge developments being realized by RTA in Dubai."

"UAE are showing the world a successful way of improving quality of life also in the field of transport and infrastructure. In this sector the Italian know how and technology are excellent, and can provide added value to the huge projects being developed in this beautiful country," Dionisi concluded.

'UAE in general and Dubai in particular is witnessing huge developments which have resulted in the influx of people and businesses. We are thus obliged to provide the required infrastructure to support this burgeoning development,' Mattar concluded.

This visit was completed Al Tayer presenting a crystal miniature of the Dubai Metro that is on of the most prestigious transport projects undertaken by the RTA.
