Datawatch hosts Anti-Money Laundering and Basel II Accord User's Conference

  • United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, August 01 - 2006 at 12:34
  • PRESS RELEASE

Datawatch Middle East is organising the Gulf's first ever User's Conference providing a forum for formal accreditation for those looking for a grounding in compliance issues such as the Basel II Accord and Anti-Money Laundering.

Datawatch is a provider of business intelligence, enterprise reporting and data transformation tools. It also offers a range of products and solutions which allow an 'information made easy' approach. Datawatch's key vertical markets include banking and finance and around 70% of the world's banks are Datawatch customers with over 90% of the Fortune 500 companies.

Although relatively new to the region, opening an office in June 2005, Datawatch Middle East has been making steady headway into the GCC region with Dubai Bank becoming its first customer some 18 months ago. It recently signed up its first Islamic Banking customer, Sharjah Islamic Bank.

The Conference is suitable for both existing Datawatch Users and those wishing to learn more about their information-made-easy range of products and solutions. Its products and solutions sit in front of existing systems and allow non-IT professionals better access to the information they need to function. The event will feature presentations from some of the most prestigious bodies in the Emirates as well as existing Datawatch customers.

Rob Graham, Product Manager for Datawatch in the Middle East believes that this first event will be a huge success.
"We are in the business of providing solutions and have been doing so for around 20 years. This first ever User's Conference to be held in the GCC is not just a series of product training, demonstrations and entertainment - although all are included - but a real attempt to provide our customers with initial training in and formal certified accreditation for delegates in Basel ll and Anti-Money laundering".

Graham has instructed Regan Devine & Associates to provide the grounding on both compliance imperatives during the two days and the company has arranged for delegates to receive certified recognition in tandem with the National College of Ireland.

The training and model building alone offers organisations an immediate and positive return on investment in terms of enhanced staff skills.
