Bahrain will apply to host the World Bodybuilding Championship in 2008, at the next annual meeting during the 2006 championships in the Czech Republic. Brazil is also interested in hosting. Bodybuilders from ten Arab nations and Iran are currently competing in the Kingdom of Bahrain Open Bodybuilding Championship, according to Gulf Daily News.
