The suite includes the deployment of Financial, Distribution, Human Resources and Payroll modules along with some self-service applications. RTA achieved the deployment in a record of three and a half months from the project's kickoff date.

Mr. Suhail Al-Ashkar, the Project Manager from RTA's Information Technology Department said "This project been succeeds because of the common cooperation from various government entities namely Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police and HH. The Ruler's Court".

Mr. Al-Ashkar added, the project was aimed to apply RTA's new organization structure set-up (comprising of a single corporate entity and four distinct agencies) in the applications that process RTA business functions.

The applications automate the majority of the authority's processes and functions across all agencies related to the modules involved. The Project was also focused on providing decision support reporting and data analysis for senior and departmental management and creating a unified database capable of providing Dubai government with the information it requires for strategically planning for future financial, human resources requirements.

RTA team managed to overcome the challenges faced throughout the life cycle of the project ranging from (1) extracting RTA's related data from the Dubai Municipality and Dubai Police's systems. (2) Implementing in a tight timeframe. (3) Re-engineering a large number of processes to achieve optimization. (4) Interfacing the GRP system with the existing vertical applications needed by the operational departments (Ex: Cash Receipt, Maximo and Project Contracts).

As a result of achieving the project goals, RTA employees are now able to spend less time on administrative tasks and more on improving services. Ahmed Bahrozyan, the IT Director of RTA emphasized this project is one of backbone projects that the IT department is focusing on to support the business of the various functions within RTA.
