Concern over Gulf suicides

Indian authorities are concerned about increasing suicide rates among Indians working in Gulf states, according to Gulf News. 269 Gulf-based Indians committed suicide in 2005, with the toll at 166 for the first half of 2006. Nearly 3.5 million Indians live in the Gulf countries. The reasons for suicide range from personal to financial and work related stresses.
