Ahead of its opening in mid 2007, Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) is to host two fascinating and informative events this August and September in Doha: Insight into Innovation and Explore QSTP.
Insight into Innovation will be a stunning exhibition of visual imagery based on the themes of scientific discovery and entrepreneurship. Highlighting events in the history of science and technology that everyone can relate to, Insight into Innovation will educate and interest both young and old. Insight into Innovation will be located on the 2nd Floor of City Center shopping mall and will be open from the 24th August to 2nd September.
QSTP is also delighted to announce a major two day event, Explore QSTP, which will be held at the Ritz-Carlton on 4th and 5th September this year. Explore QSTP will showcase the wide range of ground-breaking activities set to take place at the science park and QSTP welcomes members of the public and business community to the exhibition where the its current tenants, EADS, ExxonMobil, Gartner Lee, GE, Microsoft, Rolls-Royce, Shell and Total will be present to answer questions and explain the exciting projects they have planned for QSTP and Qatar.
Whilst the first day's activities are geared towards the business community, the second day of Explore QSTP will focus on education-based seminars, in line with its strong ties to Qatar Foundation's Academic Institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University Qatar, Georgetown University, Texas A&M University, Weill Cornell Medical College and Virginia Commonwealth University.
In addition, the much awaited award ceremony for the resoundingly successful Qatar 2031 time capsule competition will also take place on 5th September. Not only will winners be announced, but a selection of the best entries will be displayed at the Ritz-Carlton for the general public to view.
"This is an exciting time for QSTP and for Qatar", commented Dr. Eulian Roberts, CEO of Qatar Science & Technology Park. "As the park's opening draws ever closer, we want everyone in Qatar to understand what this will mean for the country. Given that one of the park's primary objectives is to strengthen Qatar's knowledge economy, we hope to engage the Qatari public as much as possible in the developments at the park."
