Sun chooses Cairo to hold its annual communications sector conference

Sun Microsystems chose Cairo to hold its annual communications sector conference in cooperation with Vodafone International.
Concerning the aim of holding the conference in the Middle East and particularly in Egypt, Sun Microsystems' Communication Solutions Sector Manager, Mr Gary Ashworth said that the communications market in the Middle East and North Africa as well as in a number of African countries is growing and is expected to reach a growth rate of 30% by next year paving the way to an increase in demand on communication sector solutions and services in addition to the communications sector movement towards a new stage of technological development and integration along with other solutions and applications.
Mr Ashworth added that the meeting discussed all technical and technological matters for which Vodafone is trying to create solutions. The Vodafone team showcased the latest technologies in the field of communications in cooperation with Sun Microsystems' team.
Sun Microsystems' Marketing Manager, Mr Graham Porter asserted that the communications sector in the Middle East is witnessing a huge growth due to an increase in the number of cell phone and Internet network users.
