AmCham-Iraq announces sponsorship of ISTC Summit

The American Chamber of Commerce of Iraq has agreed to become a principal co-sponsor of the Iraq Security, Technology and Communications Summit to be held on 12-13 September 2006 in the United Arab Emirates.
"The Permanent Government of Iraq realises that the government, acting alone, does not have sufficient resources to create a stabile and prosperous Iraq, and that partnerships with global private sector leaders in each of these critical sectors is essential," Mills observed. "The Summit creates the opportunity for fresh, candid exchanges between senior business and government representatives, with a view toward establishment of solid, mutually valuable government-industry relationships that will contribute to social and economic stability in Iraq," Mills said.
The American Chamber of Commerce of Iraq is the voice of international business in Iraq. AmCham-Iraq is officially-sanctioned by the US Chamber of Commerce, and has as one of its mission promoting the grown of private commercial business and investment involving all economic sectors in Iraq. Established in 2004, AmCham-Iraq has grown from a charter membership of 40 American and Iraqi companies to over 200 members as of July 2006.
Most recently, on 17 July 2006 AmCham-Iraq co-sponsored the historic first-time visit of US Secretary of Commerce Carlos Guitierrez to Baghdad, where Secretary Gutierrez gave the keynote address at the AmCham-Iraq 2006 Business Showcase and Luncheon held on 17 July 2006.
