UAE citizens to volunteer for the 18th Arabian Gulf Cup

The organizers of the 18th Arabian Gulf Cup are encouraging UAE citizens to participate as volunteers during the event. From the inception of the recruiting programme less than a month ago, the committee has received a tremendous response from the local community. The volunteer programme has attracted 500 applicants to date, including male and female nationals. This response is a tribute to the great people of UAE and their commitment in making everything associated to this country a success.

The primary goal of this program is to invite and recruit volunteers to help with the hosting of delegates and activities for the event. The volunteers will play an important role before and during the Cup by taking part in all the principal hosting duties, which will be designated once the group of volunteers is selected and the training sessions conducted. A unique hands-on experience, this participation will give volunteers a chance to show the region and the world their willingness to support their local community. The committee is set to demonstrate that the UAE as a whole and Abu Dhabi in specific will have pioneering role in one of the most exciting Gulf Cup events to date. The country is well-equipped with state of the art facilities and football stadiums to organize such an important event, in addition to luxurious hotels to host the visiting fans of football. The organizing committee for the Arabian Gulf Cup has committed their team to pre-preparations of every aspect of the activities leading up to the event in January 2007. UAE last hosted the event in 1994.
