eHosting DataFort, who will be participating at the upcoming IDC (international Data Corporation) IT Infrastructure roadshow in August as a gold sponsor, believes that regional customers are becoming increasingly intolerant to downtime and data loss, forcing businesses to take increased measures to implement well-designed recovery programmes.

According to North American-based Infonetics Research, the premiere international market research and consulting firm specialising in data networking and telecoms, medium sized companies lose 1% of their revenues a year to server downtime.

Dr. Saeed said:

"As the regional business markets develop, server downtime is going to become increasingly detrimental to companies of all sizes. Organizations need to find the optimum balance between overall data recovery costs and acceptable risks to develop a workable strategy that provides the basis of a business continuity and disaster recovery plan",

he added.

Dean Polley, Commercial Director of eHosting DataFort said: "The Middle East is becoming an increasingly competitive market and businesses need to take every available measure to reduce costs and increase profits. The right combination of technology infrastructure, people and processes is the key to achieving business success today", he added.

Polley will be a keynote speaker at the IDC IT Infrastructure roadshow, where he will give a presentation on Data Centres - Trends & Technologies: Achieving Excellence in Service Management, as part of eHosting DataFort's sponsorship of the highly anticipated event.

eHosting DataFort, which is a subsidiary of TECOM Investments, a member of Dubai Holding, will also be exhibiting at the show.

Running from mid-August to mid-September, the IDC IT Infrastructure roadshow will be held in five Middle East countries including Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The event has been specifically designed to inform and update senior IT professionals on the latest trends and deployment of infrastructure technologies. The conference will provide a 360-degree view of IT infrastructure, instead of simply focusing on isolated server or storage/hardware products.
