  • PRESS RELEASE

Cellucom, one of the fastest growing regional retailers for mobility products, is moving ahead with plans to expand its operations in the GCC.

The expansion is aimed at tapping the growing market for mobile communication devices, its accessories, and other digital products.

The company's latest venture is a 110 sq. mtrs. showroom in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and is located on King Fahd Street, in the heart of the city's bustling mobile market. The new showroom, which opened recently, is a continuation of Cellucom's retail expansion plan in the region. The new store brings to 11 the total number of Cellucom outlets in Saudi Arabia.

As long-term player in the industry, Cellucom has a solid understanding of the dynamic needs of the Middle East consumer, who looks forward to innovative products and the latest designs. As such the company has drawn up an impressive plan for growth in the region that includes a dramatic expansion of its retail network and which, once completed, will offer consumers easy access to the most comprehensive selection of mobility solution products in the region.

"There is tremendous potential in the GCC as the mobile market is showing encouraging growth trends, driven by a new generation of mobile phone users who are highly sophisticated and demanding. We have over 100 outlets in the region currently, with a planned increase to over 250 by the end of 2006. We expect this number to reach 500 by end 2008,"

said Arun Nagar, Managing Director, Cellucom.

The new Dammam showroom, as have all new Cellucom showrooms, has been designed to communicate the company's central belief: mobility. "Our showrooms have been designed to showcase ways in which a person's life may be improved through mobility solutions," explained Fady A. Nassif, General Manager-Operations, Sara Cellucom ltd Cellucom - Saudi Arabia. He added that the presence of Cellucom in Dammam, and across the region, supported the company's commitment to providing its customers value added services.

"The demand for cell phones and other mobile communication devices has been growing steadily with consumers constantly on the look out for the latest models. To assist the delivery of quality products and services, our new operations in Dammam will also include a fully-equipped service centre and a regional depot," Mr. Nagar said.

He added that Cellucom has been expanding its retail operations rapidly in order to ensure a frontline presence in all significant regions. This is in line with the company's strategy to further strengthen its position as mobility enabler in existing markets.
