Emirates, World Cup brand boost

Emirates airline has received a big boost to its brand in Germany from sponsoring the 2006 World Cup, Reuters reported. According to a study by the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Emirates raised its brand awareness in the country to 30% from 11%. South Korean carmaker Hyundai scored the highest among sponsors, with a brand recognition rate of 50%.
