NTDE Group opens 40,000 sq.f. cold store in Dubai

"The new cold store will have a storage capacity of 4000 metric tons", said Mr. Adil Alsmadi Manager Logistics, NTDE. NTDE's first cold store houses many of the products distributed by the company, such as Cadbury's, Ferrero Rocher and Häagen-Dazs, all of which have special refrigeration needs. NTDE opened their second cold store with the sole purpose of leasing it to customers, to accommodate the increasing demand for specialised storage facilities.

"Currently we have over 190 shipments coming in each month to our warehouses. The pace of development in the retail sector has seen a steady growth over the years, as such we feel it is essential to have the correct infrastructure in place to support the sector."

NTDE's new cold store is equipped with sophisticated systems that ensure efficient distribution. "We are using an Oracle-based software that manages inventory and stock replenishment, ensuring prompt attention for every customer. Other facilities include individual storage, along with loading and off-loading ramps and forklifts. The warehouse also provides flexibility in duty timing to all customers using its services; a maintenance team is also on call 24/7," said Mr. Adil Alsmadi.

Located in Rashidiya the cold store is 18 Km from Port Rashid, 45 Km from Jebel Ali Port and 2 km from the airport.

The new facility is in-line with the company's plans to expand its existing storage capacity. NTDE's existing facilities include their warehouses in Rashidiya, Jebel Ali, Hamriya, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain Free Zones. The company recently opened a 40,000 sq. f. storage facility in Al Rumool industrial area in February this year. The company plans on opening another warehouse in Jebel Ali Free Zone in the near future.
