Dubai medics aid cancer patient

Doctors at the Rashid Hospital in Dubai have carried out a procedure on a patient with no stomach in order to allow her to eat, reported Gulf News. The woman, whose stomach was removed in 2004, had developed a tumour in her small intestine and oesophagus, which she had been using as a replacement stomach. Doctors used a new stenting technique to stretch her small intestine, thus enabling her to eat.
