Citrix entered the SSL VPN market for the first time in January 2005 when it introduced Citrix Access Gateway to its more than 5,000 worldwide channel partners. By extending secure remote access to any application, Access Gateway proved to be a natural addition to the company's popular application delivery solutions — Citrix Presentation Server™ for client-server applications and Citrix® NetScaler® for Web applications. Citrix also led the market in innovation with the introduction of industry-leading capabilities such as Citrix® SmartAccess, which lets administrators control not only who accesses application data, but also what they can do with it. As a result, data access becomes like a dimmer switch, where the right level of access can be dialed and configured for any access scenario.
"Citrix has successfully tapped into their huge installed base of Presentation Server and NetScaler customers to achieve very impressive growth rates over the past four quarters," said Jeff Wilson, principal analyst for VPNs and Security at Infonetics Research, Inc. "With this market-leading growth, Citrix is showing that there is tremendous unfulfilled demand for SSL VPNs. Citrix will clearly be a key player to watch in the coming year."
"In the Middle East, security and access are pressing issues for all organizations. The demand here for our market leading SSL-VPN products is such that we are now aggressively recruiting additional partners with the correct security credentials needed to help us meet the needs of our customers,"
concluded Fady Iskander, Regional Channel Manager, Citrix Systems Middle East.
