The visiting delegation and the FTZ officials discussed the available investment opportunities and different means of enhancing relations between Iran and the UAE in general and RAK Free Zone in particular which is considered one of the fast growing free zones in the country.
"The long history of mutual trade relations between the UAE and Iran has had the greatest influence on attracting a big number of Iranian companies to register with RAK Free Zone," pointed out HH Sheikh Faisal Bin Saqr Al Qassimi during his meeting with the visiting delegation. "RAK Free Zone endeavors to enhance and consolidate trade cooperation with Iran further by participating in a number of exhibitions held in Iran, the latest of which was Iran International Industry and Trade Exhibition, INTEX 2006," he added.
According to Mr. Oussama El Omari,
"RAK FZ Authority has become a major business hub for Iranian investors because of the authority's continuous interest in developing its services to suit the activities of over 320 registered Iranian companies, which constitute 17% of total RAK FZ-registered companies numbering about 1800 from around the world. The number of companies at the Free Zone is expected to rise in the next few years after completion of expansion and development of the infrastructure and services executed by RAK FTZ."
Later the Iranian delegation took a tour of the facilities. The delegation members hailed the authority's efforts of RAK FZ authority to provide an optimal environment for investment, success and prosperity.
