Princess Sumaya University for Technology signs Memorandum of Understanding with Kuwait Small Business Development Company

A memorandum of understanding was signed last month between the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) at the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), and the Kuwait Small business Development Company.

Signed by Prof. Hisham Ghassib, PSUT's President, and Mohamed Abueljebain, General Manager, Kuwait Small Projects Company, this agreement promises to bring with it a healthy exchange of experiences and expertise for both sides involved. On one level it is to encourage youth of both Jordan and Kuwait to create new employment opportunities within the private sectors of their home economies through company creation, while on another level this MOU will also grant the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship an opportunity to expand the scope of the services it offers within the region, especially those that pertain to small and medium sized businesses and their development.

When asked to comment on the agreement signed, Mr. Abueljebain said, "This agreement embodies our ongoing strive to strengthen ties we hold with private and public sectors across the region. We, from our end, hope to use such partnerships to benefit small and medium sized projects, and more importantly to elevate the quality of the services we provide so that they are inline with our diverse client needs. I am sure that our agreement with QRCE will help us achieve these goals"."

From his end, Mr. Mohammad Asfour, Advisor to PSUT's Board of Trustees added that this agreement serves to further reflect the high level of trust different organizations and institutions have in QRCE and the services it offers. "The QRCE's mission is to support economic growth by providing an array of services in entrepreneurship development and technology commercialization. We are working hard on turning it into an economic engine by which Jordan's intellectual wealth can be uplifted and a regional cornerstone for technology commercialization and entrepreneurship development. We, on our part, are willing to provide high quality services to our friends in Kuwait, we hope to meet their demands and perhaps exceed them" he said.
