Siemens ultramodern Gigaset phones in huge demand

With the launch of Etisalat's fixed line short messaging service this month, Siemens' range of Gigaset phones -SL550, E455, S445, C355 and C350 - are in huge demand.

Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices, one of the largest players in the global telecommunications industry, has launched a new range of cordless 'Gigaset' phones in the UAE.

The Siemens Gigaset cordless phones are SMS enabled with the SL550 and the E455 tailored for English users and the S445, C350 and C355 for Arabic and English users. Siemens was the first to introduce the SMS feature in fixed line phones in English and Arabic. These phones can be used to send messages to a fixed line phone with the SMS feature, mobile phones and vice-versa. Other models that are SMS enabled are SL 150 and all models in the C and above category are SMS enabled.

Commenting on the demand for land line SMS enabled phones, Ajai Dayal, General Manager for Retail and Marketing of Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, Siemens' distributor in the UAE, said, "Our stores and dealers have been getting a lot of requests and enquiries from customers. The Arabic enabled SMS phones are really liked because they are unique. Going by the initial demand for the Siemens Gigaset, we are confident sales will reach record highs."

Explaining the features of the Siemens Gigaset Ahtesham Iqbal, Sales Manager for the Middle East of Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices, said, "Siemens is the only manufacturer to have Arabic enabled phones with SMS function. Our products are especially catered for this market for instance to meet with the deserts harsh conditions we have the dust resistant, shock and splash proof E455."

The Gigasets come mostly in black and silver colours.
