Manchester Business School Worldwide - the distance learning arm of Manchester Business School (MBS), one of the world's leading business schools and the largest business school in the UK, has confirmed the appointment of Ms. Randa Bessiso as its first Director for the Middle East.
Ms Bessiso, a Lebanese national of Palestinian origin, has worked in senior management positions in international organisations within the region for over 10 years. Most recently, Ms Bessiso was the Dubai-based International Business Manager for UK eUniversities Worldwide and, prior to this, she was Vice President for Projacs training and development group in Kuwait.
Commenting on Ms. Bessiso's appointment, Nigel Banister, Chief Executive Officer of Manchester Business School Worldwide, said: "MBSW is delighted to announce the appointment of Randa Bessiso as our first director of the new Middle East centre, in Dubai - our third international centre, after Hong Kong and Singapore. Randa brings to this new role a wealth of relevant regional experience, which will be vital as we build the 'Manchester Worldwide MBA' brand and actively recruit and support high calibre students in the region."
Randa Bessiso added: "Manchester Business School is a world class School and a great brand to be working with. Our first student intakes in the Middle East were very successful and we now have over 100 students from across the region studying for the Manchester Worldwide MBA. The performance of the School in the latest FT rankings has helped give us extra impetus in attracting the best talent in the region and we have just launched the Doctor of Business Administration programme in the region, which drew a lot of interest from experienced, senior business practitioners. Our new regional centre will open in Dubai Knowledge Village in September 2006, offering full support to all our students and coordinating the face to face workshops with visiting faculty in Dubai."
The FT (Financial Times) currently ranks Manchester Business School's full-time MBA programme at 22nd in the world, third in the UK and seventh in Europe. Manchester Business School holds triple MBA accreditation - AMBA, EQUIS, AACSB.
