The deal will enable unobstructed viewer access to further international sports coverage, complementing Orbit's already extensive international sports portfolio.
The two new Al Jazeera encrypted channels, JSC+1 and JSC+2 will kick off on September 1st, and in a win-win situation, Orbit will continue to offer customers gripping sports coverage via the recently signed NBA TV, Al Riyadiyah, and Orbit's ESPN sports channel, which includes: Tennis, Cycling, Golf, Major League Baseball, National Football League, Major League Soccer, NBA and the pulse-racing NHRA Drag Racing.

Soon after its launch, Al Jazeera Sports channels rapidly grew to be the most popular sports channels in the Middle East. The channels boast a substantial list of major sporting events coverage such as the English FA Cup, Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga, Portuguese SuperLiga, Qatar League, 2006 African Cup of Nations and the Carling Cup in addition to Formula 1 on the Al-Jazeera Sports FTA channels.
Both JSC+1 and JSC+2 will be available in the GCC to subscribers of Mega, and Prime Packages on channels 16 & 17 as of the 1st of September, 2006.
