The expected sales spike is based on the belief that with just a few more days left of the Dubai Summer Surprises 2006 sales and promotions, families and children would like to make the most of these last few days.
The two more weeks before DSS concludes on September 1 mark the run-up to the start of the new scholastic year, and the return of tourists to their countries.
"The remainder of DSS 2006 will be positive in every way, especially for businesses. They should expect to be extremely busy, thanks to the overwhelming numbers of visitors and shoppers over the coming fortnight,"
said Laila Suhail, DSS Executive Project Director.
"The expected spike in sales in not just due to the approaching new academic year, but also because people will take advantage of the remainder of DSS events and shops discounts to do their shopping," she added.
Visitors and holiday makers will also be shopping for their return back home, buying everything from clothes to gold trinkets to household goods.
Laila Suhail invited all of Dubai to participate in the wonderful events and shows conducted in shopping malls and Modhesh Fun City, especially kids who have just returned from vacations with their families abroad. "The Back-to-School exhibition at Modhesh Fun City is one location where they will find all that they need for the new school year," she said.
